FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH

he is patient

God is Patient

Satan entered the paradise God had made and lied to Adam and Eve (Genesis 3). He said…

Lie #1 God’s Word is not true.

“Did God actually say…” (Genesis 3:1)

Lie #2 You can know wisdom without God.

“You will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:5)

Lie #3 You will not die (no consequences for sin).

“You will not surely die.” (Genesis 3:4)

Eve, and then Adam, ate the forbidden fruit, and sin entered the world. The Bible says, “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man [Adam], and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.” (Romans 5:12)

They tried to hide from God, like we do today. The man blamed his wife, she blamed the Devil, and the family was torn apart. Because of their sin, God judged Adam and Eve. But he also was patient with them; as he is with us (2 Peter 3:9).
