FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH

he is good

God is Good

God Does Good

God sustains his good creation. He gives food to eat and places to live. He causes “the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth…and bread to strengthen man's heart.” (Psalm 104:14-15)

God Gives Meaning

God gives each person worth and value. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27) In order for God’s good image to fill the earth, he gives the family its purpose: “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over … the earth.” (Genesis 1:28) God designed male and female for marriage to fulfill this purpose. Family was made to build loving communities on earth for God’s glory (Ephesians 5:22-33). God’s plan for the family extends to every generation. “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” (Psalm 145:4) Humanity was created to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31).
